The Masters is one of the biggest events of the year for the PGA. As the first Major Championship each year, The Masters attracts a lot of attention, both from golf fans and from those that are interested in fantasy sports. This year is no different. The major daily fantasy sports sites all have contests lined up for The Masters that you might be interested in participating in. The great thing is that because this is such a huge event, a lot of people who don’t know much about fantasy sports or how to nuance their roster for a specific site will be entering in this tournament, giving those that have more knowledge about fantasy sports a decent advantage.

Are You Ready to Play Some Masters 2018 DFS

This is your chance to make some great picks and come home with the biggest prize.
If you’re thinking of playing in a fantasy tournament for The Masters, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve put together all of the information that you will need to succeed right here. While we can’t guarantee that you will have a winning roster, we can get you pointed toward the resource and information that you’ll need to give yourself the best chances possible of doing so.

DraftKings and FanDuel have been the two biggest names in daily fantasy sports for a while, and they remain the major places to put together a fantasy golf roster for The Masters. For this event, DraftKings has a few good sized tournaments that are already signing up entrants. They will also have their normal selection of smaller tourneys as the tournament draws closer. The $3.5 Million Fantasy Golf Millionaire tournament is their biggest one. With an entry fee of just $20, this is a huge tournament with $1 million guaranteed for first place. There are over 205,000 entry spots in the tournament, and there are still thousands of spots available. Payouts will go all the way down to the 46,675th place finisher, who will see a return of $30. This gives many people a chance to turn a profit on the tournament—and because of the popularity of it, there’s a good chance that this will be one of the hottest events in all of fantasy sports for this tournament.

DraftKings also has a PGA $1 Million Thunderdome tournament. This has a much higher entry fee at $5,300, but with only 200 entry slots, this is another tourney that will fill up quickly. The top finisher will get $200,000, and the top 38 finishers will see a return on their money. This will probably be out of the price range of most entrants, which will ensure that only the most experienced of fantasy golf players enter it, but it could be a very lucrative tournament if you are interested in a higher stakes game.

There’s a good deal of action over at FanDuel, too. Their big event is called the $500K Golden Eagle. This has a $9 entry fee and $500,000 in guaranteed prize money. The overall winner will see a cash prize of $100,000, and the top 13,572 entrants will see at least double their money in prizes. There are only 66,137 places open for this tourney, and many of them have already filled up. Although FanDuel is a hugely popular site, they don’t have the same draw when it comes to fantasy golf because this is a newer addition on their site. Even though this is the case, you can expect that this tournament will fill up well before the kick off of The Masters.

There are definitely going to be more tournaments going on than just what these two sites have to offer, but because these are the two biggest sites in all of fantasy sports, these are going to be the biggest and most popular of the tournaments being offered for The Masters. As you go about drafting your team, don’t forget that both DraftKings and FanDuel have different scoring systems. The roster that you put together for one site might not have the same set of players that you have for the other. This is perfectly normal as you want to get the players that will be the most beneficial to you under certain scoring systems. For example, both DraftKings and FanDuel have Dustin Johnson listed as their most expensive golfer. FanDuel has his with a salary of $12,000 and an average of 101.2 fantasy points per tournament so far this season. Even with the same data being analyzed, DraftKings has slightly different numbers. His salary there stands at $11,400 and an average of 101.3 fantasy points.

Take into consideration that one FanDuel has a starting budget for fantasy managers of $60,000 and DraftKings gives managers $50,000, and you suddenly have two very different choices to make. Johnson might be a good choice at one site, and a horrible one at the other. Looking at the rest of your roster and taking into consideration concepts like value and potential will help you to refine this decision, especially as you put together the best possible roster for the respective contest that you are entering.

Finally, don’t forget that there will be some last minute additions to The Masters, especially as the field will not be finalized until April 2nd. There will be time to adjust your roster if you feel like you need to up until shortly before the tournament begins. This is an exciting tournament, and having a vested interest in it because of fantasy sports will only help you to enjoy it that much more. These sites both have mobile apps that are worth checking out to help you put together your team even while you are on the go.

This will be an exciting tournament on the links at Augusta, but the fantasy gold aspect of the tournament will also be quite exciting. Whether you already have an account at one of the DFS sites, or you’re brand new to this, there are a lot of opportunities for you to create a fantasy roster, have a lot of fun, and perhaps even win a few dollars on the way. Good luck!
